July 22, 2016! That’s the expected release date of the new Ghostbusters, starring Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon. I can’t wait to see this! Ghostbusters was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it. It might be up there with The Color Purple and Goonies, both of which I’ve literally seen over 300 times.
All four of these ladies are hilarious in their own right. Leslie Jones has been one of my favorite comedians for years and I’m so glad her star is FINALLY shining bright enough for everyone to know her name. Bridesmaids is one of my favorite movies and was my introduction to Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. That movie made me start watching SNL again. And since I started watching it again, I now know Kate McKinnon. She is amazingly funny.
I am so looking forward to seeing this movie. Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis (rest in peace), left some huge shoes to fill. I’m sure these funny women will have no problem delivering.
I can already hear fans huffing and puffing their disapproval about the female cast. Suck it up! I’m not talking about the people who chat about it in fun. I mean those who are taking it way too seriously. If act as though the female cast somehow changes your life forever, and is the bane of your existence, and it angers you, then I am personally LMFAO at you for getting mad at a fictional movie.
A year and six months, is a long time, but I’m sure there will be lots of promotion to keep fans in tow.
Thank you for reading!
